Looking Ahead...
Friendly v Mansfield, 7th August 2010

by Adam Marsden

Nicky Law's men welcome Mansfield Town to The Impact Arena later today.

Both sides enter the fixture with good performances behind them. Mansfield will face the Reds on the back of a 6-1 win over Hucknall Town and a 3-1 win over Eastwood Town. Alfreton however have made a bigger impression having beaten Luton Town and Rotherham United in their previous matches and they are currently unbeaten in six games. A victory against Mansfield would surely give Alfreton the edge of confidence they need prior to the new season.

The latest of victories for Alfreton was against Glapwell FC as they walked away with a 2-0 win. Goals came from both Jake Moult and Anton Brown to continue Law's pre-season to be proud of.

The 'never say die' attitude of the Reds was tested last Thursday evening as they came from behind twice to gain a 2-2 draw against Blue Square Bet Premier Division side Kettering Town. Nathan Arnold notched his first goal for Kettering since moving from Hyde FC, the former Mansfield Town wide man finding the net prior to Jake Moult levelling to gain a hard-earned draw for the Reds.

The Stags game kicks off at 3pm with admission prices of £6 adults and £3 concessions.

Nicky Law has tried keeping his mind fully focused on his new transfer targets as he tries adding the final touches to a squad that looks to have more ambition than an Alfreton side ever managed by Law himself. Two negotiations are expected to have been completed before the home game against Hinckley United on Saturday 14th August.

It’s still possible for Alfreton Town supporters to purchase their season tickets for the new season and can buy these tickets up to and including Friday 13th August.

Lisa Towerzey is the person to contact on 01159 392090 extension 107. For adults it will cost £161, £80 concession and £33 for a family ticket that includes two adults and two children.

The 'Ten Man Ticket' will be continued onto this season after being introduced for the first time last season - fans will be able to decide on ten league games of their choice throughout the season. Prices are £90 adults and £50 concession.

Membership is also available for under 15's, after paying the £5 membership per junior red, home game prices will be slashed down to just £1 a game providing they are accompanied by an adult at approach of the turnstile.
