Friday 7th March 2014 Derbyshire have confirmed that Geoff Miller OBE is to be voted as the Club's President after their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 26th March.
The Supervisory Board unanimously supported the nomination of the former Derbyshire Captain and England & Wales Cricket Board National Selector for the position.

Derbyshire CCC Announce Third Successive Year In Profit
Tuesday 4th March 2014 Derbyshire County Cricket Club has recorded a profit of £3,395 for the financial year ending December 2013; the Club's third successive year of surplus.
The latest profit signifies the Club's progress towards long-term sustainability and continues the significant turnaround since Chris Grant's election as Chairman in 2011, on the back of a £187,037 loss.

Monday 3rd February 2014 Graeme Welch says Derbyshire CCC's new coaching setup signals the Club's long-term ambition.
The Club has added John Sadler, Simon Guy, Cookie Patel and Ant Botha to its backroom team, as investment in coaching increases to unprecedented levels.

Tuesday 7th January 2013 Graeme Welch has been appointed Elite Cricket Performance Director of Derbyshire County Cricket Club on a three-year-contract.

Opening batsman Stephen Moore has joined Derbyshire County Cricket Club on a two-year contract.
The former England Lions, Lancashire and Worcestershire opener has amassed 8,843 runs during his first-class career, averaging 36.39.
He has scored 17 first-class centuries, including a highest score of 246 versus Derbyshire in 2005 and 120 for England Lions against Australia in 2009. He has passed 1,000 runs in a season on four occasions. READ MORE...
Derbyshire CCC Head Coach Karl Krikken Leaves The Club
Friday 20th December 2013 Karl Krikken's 27 year career with Derbyshire CCC has come to an end after a restructuring of the coaching set up and his decision to seek alternative opportunities elsewhere.
Krikken took over the Head Coach role in May 2011 after a period as the first Academy Director at the Club. He enjoyed a 17 year playing career with Derbyshire from 1987 to 2003, scoring over 7,000 runs and totalling almost 800 dismissals as wicketkeeper.

Dan Redfern Leaves Derbyshire CCC By Mutual Agreement

Batsman Dan Redfern has left Derbyshire CCC by mutual agreement. The 23 year old who made his county debut as a 16 year old has left the club as he seeks pastures new.
The former England U19 international had struggled for form in the 2013 season and enjoyed his best spell the last time the County were in Division Two in 2012. Redfern's last first class appearance came at Queen's Park in July as Derbyshire lost by an innings to Yorkshire. New Deals For Slater And Higginbottom
Thursday 28th November 2013 Derbyshire have handed new deals to Ben Slater and Matt Higginbottom.
Both players have agreed the new contracts after impressing in the county's previous championship season. Slater and Higginbottom have signed incremental contracts for the forthcoming 2014 campaign.

Derbyshire CCC skipper, Wayne Madsen, has signed a new three year contract with the county.
Madsen had a further year left on his current deal, but with other counties expressing their interest in the Player of the Year, the Falcons decided to offer a fresh deal which sees the South African born batsman stay until the end of the 2016 season.

Derbyshire County Cricket Club has offered contracts to a trio of young Academy graduates.
While Greg Cork and Jonathan Marsden have signed summer contracts for the 2014 season, Chesterfield lad Ben Slater has now also been offered a one year deal, despite there initially being no contract offer.

Saturday 5th October 2013 Former Nottinghamshire batsman Scott Elstone has signed a one-year incremental contract with Derbyshire CCC, after impressing in the Second XI in 2013.
The Falcons agreed terms with the 23-year-old, but have released Alasdair Evans whose one-year contract has come to an end. Chesterfield born batsman, Ben Slater has also not been offered a contract at the present time.

Monday 30th September 2013 Mark Footitt has signed a new two-year contract committing him to Derbyshire until the end of the 2015 season.
The left-arm fast-bowler has enjoyed the best season of his career in 2013 and will now focus on fulfilling his promise in the colours of Derbyshire.

Thursday 8th August 2013 Derbyshire County Cricket Club has announced that ground development plans are being reviewed following confirmation of potential ECB grant funding totalling £1.7million.
Original plans were based on a grant of £1 million from the ECB which, following the vote to support change in governance, was successfully secured in June 2013.

Friday 12th July 2013 Chris Rushworth sealed career-best match figures on the final morning, as Durham quickly picked up the last three Derbyshire wickets to complete a 279-run victory at Chester-le-Street.

Monday 20th May 2013 Sussex sealed a nine-wicket victory against Derbyshire on the final morning of their LV= County Championship Division One fixture at the County Ground.

Friday 5th April 2013 Derbyshire County Cricket Club is welcoming a new era of corporate governance after crucial proposals for reform gained 96% of the Members' Vote.
Following a month of voting, the result of the ballot on comprehensive changes including a skilled Supervisory Board of six was announced at a Special General Meeting (SGM) on Wednesday 27th March 2013.

The former Midlands Cooperative Society Chief Executive was appointed at the Club's AGM on Wednesday, March 27th and will serve a one year term until March 2014.

Garry Park Leaves Derbyshire CCC
Wednesday 18th July 2012 Derbyshire all-rounder Garry Park has left the Club by mutual consent in order to allow him to maximise future options.
The decision comes after Derbyshire revealed to Park that he would not be offered a new contract at the end of the current campaign.
Park made 1,000 First-Class runs in his first season at the County Ground, averaging 42.38, going onto represent Derbyshire 29 times. Saturday 14th July 2012 Derbyshire return to Chesterfield for the Queen's Park festival which will compromise of three games, two Pro 40 matches verses the Unicorns and Yorkshire and the Tykes will play in a thrilling Division Two encounter in-between.

Tuesday 10th July 2012 Derbyshire Academy graduate Tom Knight has secured a place in England's 15-man squad for the ICC U19 World Cup in Australia.
England will begin with a game against hosts Australia in Townsville on 11th August before playing Ireland and Nepal in the other group stage matches.

Needham Calls Time On Professional Career
Tuesday 29th May 2012 Derbyshire County Cricket Club has accepted an approach from Jake Needham to be released from his playing contract. He has, however, taken-on a new role within the Club.
The 25-year-old all-rounder has joined the Media and Marketing department on a part time basis, ending his eight-season stint on the playing staff which began with a debut in 2005.

Wednesday 18th April 2012 Mark Footitt has signed a contract extension committing him to Derbyshire until the conclusion of the 2013 season.
The 26-year-old signed from Nottinghamshire ahead of the 2010 campaign and he has since taken 38 first-class wickets, in 13 matches, at an average of 30.86.
A left-arm fast bowler with the ability to bowl at 90-plus mph, Footitt took 5-53 in the match against Northamptonshire at Queen's Park, Chesterfield, in 2011. 165 trees have been planted by Million Trees Derbyshire at the home of Derbyshire County Cricket Club.
The trees are a mixture of native species planted around the edges of the ground to provide shelter and improve the landscape.

Friday 28th October 2011 Over the summer Chesterfield Borough Council has led a project that has resulted in a local cricket club setting up a junior section for 2012.
Over 100 young people from Old and New Whittington, aged between 8-16 years old, took part in a variety of activities at Brearley Park. The activities were delivered by local agencies and voluntary sports clubs and funded by Barclays Spaces for Sports.

Krikken Dips Into Specialist Coaching Fund
Tuesday 27th September 2011 Derbyshire have dipped into their Specialist Coaching Fund to recruit David Houghton as a specialist batting coach.
The Specialist Coaching Fund is part of the future cricket strategy, which was announced in June and it will see Houghton work with the specific remit of improving the Club's batsmen.

The Ockbrook & Borrowash left-hander joined the Club on a Summer Contract ahead of the current campaign and, after winning the Second XI Player of the Year Award, he has now been retained for the 2012 campaign.

Monday 5th September 2011 Wes Durston has been named Derbyshire County Cricket Club Player of the Year at the Club's annual Awards Evening.
The 30-year-old all-rounder took the main award of the night in recognition of a prolific season which has seen him score 1,785 runs in all competitions with two first-class matches still to play.

Steffan Jones Announces Retirement From County Cricket
Tuesday 28th June 2011 Steffan Jones will retire from professional cricket at the end of the current season to begin a career in teaching.
The 37-year-old fast bowler has been offered a three year player/coaching contract by Derbyshire but has opted to return to his family home in Somerset. Jones is currently enjoying his second spell at the County Ground after rejoining Derbyshire on loan from Somerset midway through the 2009 season, a move he made permanent during the following close season.

Derbyshire began their T20 campaign with the most dramatic of finishes. Requiring three runs to win the game, Lancashire skipper Glen Chapple could only scramble two and Derbyshire secured a tie.
A fine knock by Stephen Moore (72) for Lancashire helped his side settle for a draw. Guptill Looks To The Crease For Derbyshire
Tuesday 31st May 2011 Martin Guptill only arrived in England on Saturday before he was immediately thrust into the Derbyshire line up to face Surrey in the County Championship.
The New Zealander's first stay at the crease was a short one, but only after launching a massive six off England Test prospect, Jade Dernbach. Guptill returned a catch to Tim Linley moments later and the tall Kiwi departed. Derbyshire Batsman Gets Oz Call Up
Tuesday 24th May 2011 Derbyshire batsman Usman Khawaja has been called up by Australia A for the forthcoming VB Tour of Zimbabwe.
With the squad due to assemble for a training camp on 6th June ahead of the July series, Khawaja will return to Australia following the LV = County Championship match against Kent.
Khawaja said: "I have enjoyed my time with Derbyshire immensely and wish the team luck and success for the remainder of the season. It is a shame that I won't be able to complete my scheduled spell in the UK..." READ MORE...

£200,000 Success Carrot For Derbyshire Players
Friday 20th May 2011 A £200,000 carrot is being dangled in front of Derbyshire's players this season as the result of a lucrative new incentive scheme set up by local businessman Peter Gadsby.
Success in all three domestic competitions would see that amount added to the players' existing prize money by Mr Gadsby's Ark Capital Group of property and investment companies with £100,000 for winning the Friends Life t20 competition which starts next month, £50,000 for winning the LV = County Championship Second Division title and £50,000 for lifting the Clydesdale Bank 40 over trophy, in which they have made a promising start. All Change At Derbyshire County Cricket Club
Thursday 12th May 2011 The General Committee of Derbyshire County Cricket Club has today decided not to extend the contract of Head of Cricket John Morris beyond 30th September 2011.
Similarly, the contract of Assistant First Team Coach Andy Brown will not be renewed when it expires on 31st December 2011.
Commenting on the decision, Derbyshire County Cricket Club Chairman Chris Grant said: "After careful consideration, it has been decided not to renew their contracts and both will be released immediately..." READ MORE...
REMINDER: DCCC - Netherlands Fixture 12-noon Start
Monday 18th April 2011 Derbyshire County Cricket Club is reminding all supporters that the match against the Netherlands on Bank Holiday Monday, 25th April, will commence at 12 noon.
This is a different start time from the majority of daytime Clydesdale Bank 40 matches which begin at 1.45pm.
Caps Awarded To Derbyshire Duo
Monday 18th April 2011 Derbyshire County Cricket Club has announced that Wayne Madsen and Tim Groenewald have been capped.
The two players were presented with their County Caps by Head of Cricket John Morris during the lunch interval on day three of the LV = County Championship match against Leicestershire at the County Ground.
Both players have been in fine form during the current match; Madsen scoring a first innings century while Groenewald followed his bowling performance of 5 for 69 with an unbeaten 60 in the lower-middle order. READ MORE...

Derbyshire overseas player Usman Khawaja misses the LV = County Championship opener against Gloucestershire with a thigh strain.
The Australian international is being monitored by the Derbyshire medical staff and is expected back in action soon.

Thursday 31st March 2011 Chris Grant has been appointed Chairman of Derbyshire County Cricket Club following the Annual General Meeting at The County Ground.
Phil Kirby was appointed Vice Chairman and Derek Morgan formally announced as the new President. David Griffin and Malcolm Nicholas were the only nominations for the positions of Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer and so were elected unopposed. READ MORE...
Chairman Amott Departs Derbyshire Committee

Don Amott has resigned from his position as Chairman of Derbyshire County Cricket Club with immediate effect.
Amott, who has been Chairman of the Club since 2005, has also resigned from the General Committee.
Everybody connected with the Club wishes Mr Amott every success in the future.
The Club can make no further comment at this time.
Derbyshire CCC On Barbados Tour
Thursday 17th March 2011 Derbyshire's players and coaching staff departed for Barbados early yesterday morning where they will step up their pre-season preparations.
Academy left-arm spinner Tom Knight, 17, has been included in the touring party for the trip that will begin with a two day Twenty20 tournament during the forthcoming weekend.

Longer Innings For Cricket In Chesterfield
Sunday 13th March 2011 Chesterfield will continue to host County Cricket in Queen's Park after securing a further five-year deal with Derbyshire Cricket Club. It will also host a six-day Cricket Festival in August.
The club signed the deal with Chesterfield Borough Council last week, after the original five year deal - which saw cricket return to the ground, often said to be the most scenic ground in England - finished in 2010.
