Division One Hundall achieved their first win of the season at home to Hollinsend Meths. Batting first the home side hit a useful 180-9. This was mainly due to a magnificent unbeaten 102 from Badcock. Meths were then dismissed for 157 to give the home side a twenty three run victory. Top match in the top division took place at Millhouses Works. The home side who were in fourth position batted first and amassed a total of 249-8. The in form Richard Everitt clubbing a superb 129. He was assisted by League Secretary Iain Mallett who made 41. Third placed Holmesfield found this total too daunting and were never in the hunt closing at 125-8 (Neil Pearson 54 no). Millhouses Works now move to second in the table. League leaders Parkhead kept their position in a top of the table clash with Sheffield University staff. Chris Turner claimed 4-22 as the visitors were bowled out for 83 chasing what appeared to be a modest Parkhead score of A close game took place at Sheffield Centralians. Visitors Hathersage were sent back for 125 (Parkinn 6-20). The home side falling fifteen runs short at 110 all out. There was an exciting game at Beauchief based De La Salle OB. Visitors Apperknowle were restricted to 122-9 with Mark Simmerson claiming a useful 4-18. The home side lost nine wickets in reaching their target, their main run getter being White, with a determined 50.
Division Two The division’s top side The division’s top side Stocksbridge won their sixth consecutive game at the out of form Ridgeway. The home side were all out for 142 (Dudley 42, Hibbert 4-40). James Ward continuing his fine form for the visitors with an unbeaten 70 in their reply of 143-4. There were lots of runs at the tiny Calver ground. The home side batting first hit 236-8 with Tim Hilton again amongst the runs hitting 93. Steer made a good 57 with Skelton 4-34 and Tiffin 4-43. Grindleford made an excellent reply falling just two runs shorts at 234-6 (Skelton 55, Outram 53). Dronfield Woodhouse are going well in this division. They had a had fine win at the Transport ground. Batting first they made 191-7 (David Drew 55, Chris Sanders 60, Cotterill 5-63). Transport were well short being dismissed for 135 (John Slack 45, John Bridgett 4-53, Steve Vessey 4-6) Civil Service maintained third place in the table hitting 235-5 at home to Ashford. Main run getters were the prolific Frier 88 and Higgins 58. Ashford put up a brave fight, replying with 214-6 (R.Horne 4-40). There were also plenty of runs in the game between Parkhead and Millhouses second teams. Parkhead batting first made 244-7 (D.Spillman 57, C.Millard 44, J. Gilson 43). Millhouses Works made a valliant reply hitting 235-7 (Marcus Burley 70). This was the home side's first victory of the season to close the gap at the bottom of the table. Hallam 3rd's batting first made 183-9 (Garner 46no, Ahmed 5-46) against Weston Park. Who replied with a winning 186-8 (Mehrotra 72 no, Basu 4-56)
Division Three The day’s top scorers were Millhouses Works 2nd who totalled a huge 305 -7 declared (Delawar 92, A.Khan 53 no, S.Henderson 46, S.Burton 5-41). Richmond in reply were all out for 141 with S.Burton 50 completing a good all round performance for the losing side. Leaders Baslow had another good win at Totley Sports. Batting first they made a score of 219 all out (S.Kirk 52 no, J Keer 50). The home side were then dismissed for 121. Sheffield Collegiate 4th's made an impressive 230-6 (B.Rooke 86) in there victory over Whittington Wanderers who closed at 194-6. TRS batting first totalled 175-7. This was not enough as visitors Bakewell replied with 176-8 (B.Wallace 62, S.Abbass 6-55).
Division Four There were remarkable figures for J.O'Sullivan of De La Salle 2nd's who bowled five overs, taking five wickets for no runs as Chesterfield Barbarians 2nd were dismissed for 87. This however, proved to be a winning score as De La Salle fell six runs short as they could only muster 81 in reply. Barbarians now take over at the top of the table. Apperknowle 2nd had their first win of the season as they made 172 (I.Hibbert 62 , D.Burch 4-35). Visitors Walkley were then bowled out for 149 (J.Hudson 53, J.Thompson 4-31). Coal Aston 3rd posted a useful score of 200-6 (Woolley 58). This didn't prove to be enough as Hollinsend Meths 2nd replied with a fine 202-4 (Elshaw 87). Hathersage 2nd hit 207-9, mainly due to an excellent knock of 104 by Ghayas. Totley Sports 2nd replied with 145 all out (A.Morton 6-61). Hundall 2nd 108 (McCormack 4-38) were beaten at home by Sheffield Zingari who earlier had posted a fine score of 216-2 (Bowman 85no, Ruparella 46). Youlgreave Lodge 94-4 had a home victory over Sheffield Centralians 2nd 90 (D.Booker 4-50)
Division Five There was a very low scoring game at Hallam 4th who were shot out for 36 by Civil Service 2nd who themselves lost six wickets in reaching their target at Ashford 2nd 144-9 (K.Stolz 44, R.Burgin 5-66, A.Myers 4-25) were beaten at home by Woodhouse 145-9 (R.Ellis 4-25) Baslow 2nd 192-8 (T.Sadler 89 no) had a comfortable home win over second in the table Sheffield Collegiate 5th 110. Sheffield Medics 169-9 (Vishnu 43) maintained their promotion push with a home win over Ridgeway 2nd 158-5 Whittington Wanderers 2nd were all out for 63 (N.Winter 4-11). This was in reply to Chesterfield Barbarians 3rd 144-8 (J.Danby 43)
