 Karl Krikken, Derbyshire's Acting Head of Cricket believes the Falcons have a strong chance in the T20 competition starting at Derby tonight (Thursday 2nd).
Derbyshire face captain Luke Sutton's former county Lancashire in a match which is sure to attract a large attendance. Krikken stated "It's a different format to where we have been a week ago, but we've done our practices and we're ready for Lancashire."
Derbyshire have progressed nicely in the 40 over format of the game this season and Krikken believes that it's important that they continue that decent form, "We're playing well in the CB40, won three lost two and drawn one, we've got a decent fielding side we've got good players in there including Martin Guptill who was voted the best fielder in the World Cup just gone".
Krikken laments the fact that Usman Khawaja cannot play in the T20's with Guptill. "It would have been nice to use them together, Ussie had just started to hit form and his hundred against Kent was majestic".
Derbyshire always look to attract big crowds to the County Ground and tonight is no different, "We urge everyone to come down, we have a big game against Lancashire then we have the Derby game at Trent Bridge on Friday, we always attract big crowds and we hope we can do the business for them".
Krikken, was keen to point out that the change in management has worked well in the sides favour so far "It's been very good up to now, the lads have played very well and long may it continue".
