Howell
, 28, recently left Mansfield Town after two seasons with the Stags, in which he helped them to the Conference Premier Division title at the end of the 2012/13 campaign. He is primarily a central midfield player but can also operate as a striker or winger and was previously with Alfreton for two-and-a-half seasons, helping the club win the Conference North title in the 2010/11 campaign. Former Alfreton Player And Manager Jim Bullions Dies Aged 90Monday 30th June 2014 It is with great sadness that Alfreton Town Football Club announce the death of former Reds player and manager James Law Bullions who has passed away at the age of 90.

According to the Leeds United History website, Jim Bullions became Player Manager with Alfreton in September 1960 and played 58 games before retiring and went on to complete nine years in the role of Manager.

The deal will keep tough-tackling Wood at the Impact Arena until 2016. The popular 22-year-old right-back was named as the named the ATFC Supporters' Player of the Season, after a tremendous first season with the Reds as they finished eleventh in the Conference Premier Division. He enjoyed a hugely consistent campaign where he also played in central midfield for several games and only missed one game out of 50 for the club - and that was due to illness.

Alfreton Town are delighted to confirm that manager Nicky Law has brought in goalkeeper Ross Atkins on a season-long loan from Derby County.

An England Under-18 and Under-19 international, Atkins is a product of the Derby County youth system and has made one first team appearance for the club. The highly rated 23-year-old will continue to train full-time with the Rams. He was on loan with Burton Albion for the entire 2011/12 season and for the first half of last season and has also previously had loan spells with Southport, Kidderminster Harriers and Tamworth.

Derby manager Nigel Clough has kindly agreed for Ross to play in this season's FA Cup competition as well as FA Trophy and Derbyshire Senior Cup ties.

Matthew, 20, progressed through Luton Towns youth system before moving to Bramall Lane in Aug 2010. He made his first team debut in Jan 2011 and had a loan spell at Burton Albion in March this year where he made 4 appearances. He's been selected to represent Ireland U19s and will wear squad number 16 during his stay at the Impact Arena. He has been on loan with the Cheshire outfit since the start of the season. Jake made 80 appearances for the Reds, 15 from the bench, and scored 14 goals since joining the club from Stafford Rangers in January 2010.

Reds Release HawesThursday 14th June 2012 Alfreton Town have released central defender Adie Hawes from his contract by mutual consent.

The 6'4" defender joined the Reds from Eastwood Town in the summer of 2012, but only made four Blue Square Bet Premier Division league appearances, two of them from the bench.

He spent loan spells at both Altrincham and Buxton in the second half of the 2011/12 campaign. Adie has now joined Northern Premier League, Premier Division side Worksop Town.

Jarman, (left) 25, had moved to the Impact Arena from Corby Town for an undisclosed fee on March 14th, 2011, on contract to the end of the 2011/12 season at the end of which he has chosen to move on. Newark-born Meadows, 19, progressed through Forest's ranks and signed a 2-year apprenticeship there in February 2009, going on to play for both youth team and Reserves for whom he's featured regularly. He was Forest's 1st Apprentice of the Year award winner at the end of the 2010/11 season in recognition of his application and commitment in both matches and in training. Nicky, 24, began his career as a trainee with Newcastle United, but after making several appearances for the reserves, he was released at the end of the 2005/06 season. Upon his release he joined Alfreton's league rivals Gateshead, leaving to join STL Northern League side Bedlington Terriers in December 2006.

Reds Travel To Gateshead In FA Carlsberg Trophy ClashFriday 3rd February 2012 Alfreton Town will be aiming to reach the fourth round of the FA Carlsberg Trophy for only the third time in their history when they travel to Gateshead on Saturday.

The Reds have only reached the fourth round on two previous occasions before. In 2002/03 they were knocked out 2-0 in a fourth round replay by eventual winners Burscough. Alfreton should have had the first game sewn up but their failure to capitalise on their dominance saw several untaken chances punished to the full in the replay on Merseyside.

debutant Louis Moult contributed to the 6-0 win ove rWeymouth in the FA Carlsberg Trophy 2nd roundMonday 16th January 2012 Alfreton Town cruised into the last 16 of the FA Carlsberg Trophy after demolishing Southern League Premier Division hosts Weymouth 6-0 on Saturday at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

The Reds built up a commanding 5-0 half-time lead with a brace of goals each from Nathan Jarman and Nathan Arnold and one from debutant Louis Moult, then added one more in the second half through substitute Paul Clayton who steered a flicked on Anthony Wilson header home with his thigh from very close range on 77 minutes.

Quinn Commits His Future To Reds

Adam Quinn Commits His Future To Alfreton Town FCFriday 6th January 2012 Alfreton Town FC said that they are delighted to announce that they have made the signing of central defender Adam Quinn a permanent one.

The vastly experienced Quinn, 29, joined the Reds initially on loan from Darlington on November 24th but he has now signed a contract to stay at the Impact Arena until the end of the 2012/2013 season.

Quinn has made a big impact at Alfreton, with the side winning four and drawing two of the eight league and cup games he has featured in so far. READ MORE...

Midfielder Mackin Leaves Reds

Midfielder Mackin Leaves RedsWednesday 4th January 2012 Alfreton Town have parted company with central midfield player Levi Mackin whose contract has been terminated by mutual agreement.

Mackin, 25,(left) joined the Reds in early July after being released by York City but he has struggled to keep a starting shirt, making 14 appearances in all competitions, including one as a substitute, out of a possible total of 32. He scored twice for the Reds, netting the penalty which helped gain Alfreton's 1-0 August Bank Holiday Monday victory at York City and once in the 3-2 defeat at Gresley FC in the Derbyshire Senior Cup. Alfreton Town has extended the loan of Peterborough United goalkeeper Joe Day to the end of the season and he will now be with the Reds until April 28th, 2012, inclusive.

Meanwhile, striker Chris Senior has also extended his loan at Conference North side Guiseley to the end of the season.

Senior will be with the West Yorkshire club until April 28th, 2012, inclusive.

Alfreton Town boss Nicky Law has praised his squad for their marked improvement over the past month and which he believes has given them a great chance of surviving in the Blue Square Bet Premier Division.

Just over a month ago, Law's side 8 eight points adrift of safety, but after ending 2011 on a real high note by thrashing Tamworth 5-2 at the Impact Arena on Boxing Day, the Reds have climbed out of the bottom 2 and moved to within just 1 point of getting out of the relegation zone, "We've been down in the bottom reaches all season but we don't want to get used to it and don't like it" said Law. Reds Plan An Away Day For FA Cup Tie

Tuesday 13th December 2011 Alfreton Town have been handed an away tie at Weymouth in the second round of the FA Carlsberg Trophy.

The tie will take place at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday, January 14th, 2012 with a 3pm kick-off. The 'Terras' are currently 15th out of 22 sides in the Southern League Premier Division.

Third Time Lucky For Law's Reds

Friday 9th December 2011 Alfreton Town face Southport for the third time this season when the Sandgrounders arrive at the Impact Arena to contest an FA Carlsberg Trophy first round tie on Saturday.

The sides have met twice already this season, both games being in the Blue Square Bet Premier with a goalless draw in Derbyshire in the second game of the season followed by a narrow 2-1 defeat for the Reds in Lancashire last Saturday.

Southport's latest game was on Tuesday where they fell to an unlucky 2-0 defeat at league leaders Wrexham. The defeat brought to an end a fantastic winning run of 8 consecutive games in the league away from home for Liam Watson's side. READ MORE...

Battling Reds Show CharacterThursday 8th December 2011 Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law praised his side's desire after seeing them come from behind to beat fellow Blue Square Bet Premier Division strugglers Newport County 3-2 at the Impact Arena on Tuesday night.

The Reds fell behind after just four minutes but battled back to lead 2-1 at half-time. Newport levelled just before the hour but after that Alfreton came to the fore with another display of character.
