Reds Receive £35,000 Grant For Outstanding Work In The Community

Alfreton Town have announced today that their Community Development Scheme have had their outstanding work in the community recognised and rewarded by a £35,000 grant from The Football Conference Trust.

The club were presented with the award by Football Conference Chairman Brian Lee during the interval of last Friday evening's 4-3 Blue Square Bet Premier Division home win over league leaders Newport County.

The Trust is responsible for administering funds supplied by the Premier League and the Professional Footballers' Association for the community work carried out by many conference clubs.

Reds Director John Glasby commented: "The club would like to thank the Football Conference Trust for their support, as without it, we would have had difficulty in starting what was for us, a new venture."

Alfreton Town FC have also received a letter of encouragement from PFA Chairman Gordon Taylor and the club have officially thanked the Premier League and the PFA for their contributions and help.
