Reds Take On Telford, Fixture Change And Other News

Wednesday 24th October 2012

Alfreton Town boss Nicky Law will be spoilt for choice for this Saturday's home league game against high-flying AFC Telford United.

Nicky Law welcomes influential midfield man Anton Brown back into his squadThe Reds boss saw his side put in a superb display to knock Blue Square Bet Premier Division rivals Gateshead out of the FA Cup last Saturday to earn a trip to Wrexham in the first round proper last weekend.

And for the Telford clash, he will have the rare luxury of a full-strength squad to choose from as he welcomes influential midfield man Anton Brown (left) back into his squad after a calf injury and Law is also expecting striker Anthony Wilson to have shaken off a swollen knee which ruled him out of the 2-0 win over Gateshead.

Telford arrive in eighth place in the table and Law is expecting the usual difficult clash against the Shropshire side, "We always have tough games against Telford" he said, "but it's like every game at this level, there are no easy ones.

"Yes they have only lost once away in the league so far and have done well with wins at Luton, Southport and Dartford, but it's all about what we do. It's all about us."

An Alfreton win could possibly see them soar into the top half of the table for the first time since they joined the Blue Square Bet Premier Division 17 months ago.

Meanwhile, Law admits he may have to get more players out on loan. He ended: "The majority of our substitutes have been on the bench for some time so at some stage, we might have to look to get some of them out, for no other reason than to get them some game time."

Fixture Moved

Alfreton's Blue Square Bet Premier Division League game at Hyde FC next Tuesday (Oct 30th) has been cancelled and moved to Tuesday, November 20th with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Hyde's FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay at Harrogate Town on Tuesday night was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and is now being played next Tuesday.

Home Game

Segregation is in place for this game and AFC Telford United supporters are requested to enter the stadium via the away turnstiles at the Alma Street end of the Impact Arena.

Admission is £18 for adults and £12 for concessions (under 16s and over 65s). However, there is an Earlybird Matchday Ticket scheme which can be taken advantage of which gains admission for £16 or £11 respectively.
