Thursday 29th November 2012
All roads lead to Alfreton Town's Impact Arena stadium on Sunday when the Reds face npower League One side Leyton Orient in an FA Cup with Budweiser second round tie in front of live television cameras.
Nicky Law's side have already impressed in front of the TV cameras this season, beating then Blue Square Bet Premier Division leaders Newport County 4-3 three weeks ago in a game screened by Premier Sports.
This time ESPN are showing the game live nationally and with the draw for the third round being made before Sunday's tie kicks-off at 3.15pm, both sides may have even more incentive for wanting to progress, particularly if they are paired with one of the Premiership's big guns.
The Reds are looking to reach the third round of the competition for the first time ever and are in the second round for only the second time in their history.
Alfreton Chairman Wayne Bradley (left) is under no illusions as to how big a test the game is going to be against Russell Slade's side.
"Last time we reached this stage we fizzled out in a 4-0 defeat at Scunthorpe United in 2008" said Bradley. "Orient are two divisions above us. They are in good form and will be a formidable force.
"We have been at home to league opposition before and only last season we went down 4-0 at home to Carlisle United in the first round. Orient went to Carlisle a couple of weeks ago and took them apart 4-1 in the league.
"For fans who don't know their division, they are at the same level as Coventry City, Portsmouth, Notts County and Sheffield United.
"We have to be hopeful that our players can turn it on like they did against Newport recently and even then it is probably going to take something special to see us competing in the third round.
"We are going to need some luck and an awful lot of endeavour but let us just hope it is going to be a day to remember."
The FA Cup tie begins a massive week of football for Alfreton who are at home to Wrexham in the league on Tuesday evening (Dec 4th) before travelling to another title-chasing side, Luton Town the following Saturday.
Segregation
Segregation will be in place for Sunday's cup tie. Leyton Orient supporters are requested to enter the stadium via the away turnstiles only at the Alma Street end of the ground.
Early Bird Match Tickets
The game is not all ticket and entry can be gained by payment at the turnstiles on the day of the game.
Admission charges are £18 for adults and £12 for concessions (under-16s, over-65s and students upon production of a student card on the day).
However, both sets of fans can take advantage of Alfreton's Early Bird Match Ticket scheme which offers reduced admission prices of £16 for adults and £11 for concessions.
Early Bird Match Tickets can be purchased by visiting the Impact Arena during the day; by purchasing them over the phone by calling 01159 392090 extension 107 before the deadline of 2.30pm on Friday, November 30th, and then collecting them from the stadium on the day of the game. Away fans can arrange to collect their tickets from the away turnstiles.
