Division One The final match of the season was a winner takes all affair with top of the table and last season's Champions visiting second placed Holmesfield. The home side batted first and totalled a modest score 168 all out. Jimmy Pearson was again top scorer with a good 58, whilst Work's leading wicket taker Brad Sampson had the excellent figures of 6-49. Works in reply, failed to reach their target, falling eighteen runs short as they were dismissed for 150 in an exciting contest. Jimmy Pearson, putting in a man of the match performance claiming 5-56. Holmesfield therefore are the 2011 Champions. There was a remarkable run feast at the Parkhead group. Fourth placed visitors Sheffield University Staff, batting first, made a huge 303-1. They had two centurians. Paul Kerry who hit a magnificent unbeaten 153 and N.Withanage who clubbed 109. The home side were not to be outdone and replied with a winning 305-5. This was mainly thanks to Will Hellewell 96 and J.Woolway who made an unbeaten 96 to help secure a final third place for the home side. Apperknowle needed a win to avoid bottom place and therefore relegation. Visitors, De La Salle OB batting first set a more than useful total of 260 all out (C.Hutton 63, Latimer 61). This proved to be too much for the home side who were bowled out for 118, with M.Gayle returning the fine figures of 7-71. Near neighbours Hundall therefore avoiding relegation despite losing at home to Hollinsend Meths. Batting first , Hollinsend posted a good 217-7 (Michael Parker 78no, C.Jones 47no, Chris Pursehouse 4-35). The home side made a good reply closing at 178-6 with Alan Hampshire making a fine unbeaten 77. Hathersage were bowled out for 112 (B.Walker 40, M.Scholey 4-40), with Sheffield Centralians struggling in reply but eventually reaching their target at 114-8.
Division Two Champions, Stocksbridge have had a remarkable season. They won their last match at home to Ridgeway. They bowled out their visitors for 175 (Tim Vernon 63, J.Tomlinson 4-38). In reply they made 176-4 to win by six wickets. James Ward has had a superb season, he hit another good score of 73, James Spawton made 57. Stocksbridge have won every one of their games except one which fell victim to the weather. Calver secured the runners up spot and therefore promotion despite losing at Grindleford. The home side posted 178-7 (Cornes 46). Calver fell sixteen runs short being all out for 162 (J.Steer 52, Tiffin 4-27). Sheffield Civil Service lost their chance of promotion going down to a nine wicket defeat at Ashford. They were dismissed for 115. The home side relying with 116-1 (Paulette 50no, Carrington 41). Dronfield Woodhouse finished in third place after a good win over already relegated Sheffield Transport. They bowled out their opponents for 193 (M.Ibrahim 73, C.Johnson 45, L.Braddock 4-16). They reached their target at 195-4 with top scorers being Chris Sanders 61 and Steve Vessey 54no. Parkhead 2nd avoided relegation setting an excellent score of 257-8 (Renton 62, Mumtaz 5-76) at Millhouses Works 2nd. The home side were then dismissed for 151 (Amjad 41). Hallam 3rd fall through the relegation trap door. They bowled out visitors, Weston Park for 134 (Srinivasamurthy 53no, Ferguson 5-42, Andrews 4-60), but in reply could only muster an all out score of 106
Division Three Baslow are the Third Division Champions. Chris Cowley hit a magnificent 160, his second century of the summer in a total of 289-8. Visitors, relegated Shardlows were then sent back for 84. The second promotion spot goes to Bakewell after a comfortable win over TRS. They bowled their visitors out for 99 (Mick Clark 7-47) and replied with Stocksbridge chalked up 201-6 (J.Newton 69no), at Sheffield University Staff 2nd, who replied with 177 all out J.Grayson 4-55). Christi hitting a super 111 for the home side. Totley made 136-9 (D.Turner 5-34) at home to Whittington Wanderers, who fell just seven runs short at 129 all out (D.Bell 47, Abid 4-45, Sohail 5-19). Bottom club Richmond were all out for 84 (Ahanger 5-4), chasing Millhouses Works 3rd total of 164 all out.
Division Four Totley Sports 2nd secured the Championship with an easy home win over bottom of the table Hathersage 2nd. They bowled out the visitors for 102 (Askar 4-27) and relied with 106-1 (W.Aslam 51no, N.Parwaiz 50 no). Also promoted are Hollinsend Meths 2nd who made 166 all out at home to Coal Aston 3rd who they then dismissed for 134 to give them the runners up spot. Sheffield Centralians 2nd bowled out visitors Youlgreave Lodge for 86 (C.Webster 4-23), and then made a winning reply of 90-5. De La Salle OB 2nd also had a century maker. S.Dixon making 112 out of his side's 218-5 (D.Spicer 51no). Visitors Chesterfield Barbarians 2nd were all out for 164 (G.Bramwell 77, A.Flatley 6-26). Sheffield Zingari finished in third place. They bowled out Hundall 2nd for 143 (Taylor 4-28). They replied with 145-3 (Bowman 67no). Walkley bowled out visitors Apperknowle 2nd for 101 (W.Shore 5-47). They replied with a winning 103-6 (J.Thompson 4-32)
Division Five Sheffield Medics finished in runners up spot behind Champions Stocksbridge 3rd as a result of a walk over, as opponents Ridgeway 2nd failed to raise a side. There was a close match at Sheffield Collegiate 5th were visitors Baslow 2nd set a total of 220 all out. This was mainly due to super 120 from A.Satteur. For the home side, Woodhead claimed 5-34. Collegiate fell 14 runs short being finally bowled out for 196 (J.Jones 70). There was a fantastic end to the campaign for Whittington Wanderers 2nd who had battled bravely all season, without winning a game. This was finally achieved over Chesterfield Barbarians 3rd. who batting first made 164-6 (T.Rolfe 52, J.Denby 41. The Wanderers replied with a winning 165-8 (T.Henderson 51no, Wilcockson 45). Woodhouse, bowled out visitors Ashford for 116 (Burgin 6-32). They were made to fight for their win at 117-8
