RESULTS FOR SATURDAY JULY 9th 2011
WINSTON CUP 1st ROUND
There was no league programme this weekend, as it was the first round of the Winston Cup which is a twenty-twenty competition.
There were twelve groups at twelve venues with the winning team in each group qualifying for the next round, which will be held on Monday the 29th of August.
Notable performances were :
In Group One, fifteen years old Tom Ford claimed 5 for 21 as Bakewell dismissed Walkley for 55.
The highest individual score of the day came in Group Five where Liam Braddock hit a superb 109 not out for Dronfield Woodhouse, in a high scoring contest against Sheffield Medics.
Later in the same group, Totley Sport's Mohsin Khan claimed a hat trick in his overall figures of 5-20 as Dronfield Woodhouse were shot out for 64.
In Group Eleven, Holmesfield's Neil Pearson hit a fine 77 out of his side's
113-6, against Grindleford, who replied with 91-9.
Group Twelve saw a fine knock of 72 no by B.Birtles of Parkhead in their 129-1, chasing the Sheffield Civil Service knock of 126-5.
