Monday 25th October 2010 Chesterfield Borough, North East Derbyshire and Bolsover District Councils have teamed up to create a free directory for Sports clubs and Physical Activity groups across our area.
The North Derbyshire Sports Club and Physical Activity Directory will promote sports and physical activities across the town to key agencies and residents. It's hoped that it will encourage membership of the clubs and enable local authorities to provide information about coaching, training and funding direct.
Cllr David Stone, Lead Member for Safe, Healthy and Active Communities at Chesterfield Borough Council said: "There are literally hundreds of different sports and activity groups operating across North Derbyshire and this directory will make it easier for the public to access what's available in their local area and hopefully encourage people to try new sports or activities."
Any clubs or groups interested in being featured in the directory can complete a simple online questionnaire at www.chesterfield.gov.uk/sportsdirectory
Hard copies or email versions of the questionnaire are also available.
Contact Claire Wallhead for more information on 01246 345242 or by Email: claire.wallhead@chesterfield.gov.uk
The deadline to complete the questionnaire is Friday 17th December.
