Hot Fingers Point To A Great Night At Whitwell Centre!

Thursday 11th April 2013

People are talking and we don't like it! Keep mum!

Word has it on the streets that April 26th will see Whitwell Centre turned into Fat Sam's Speakeasy, complete with fun casino, gangsters, flappers, art deco refurb, moonshine and music from the era which will be supplied by the unbelievably cool HOT FINGERS BAND, secured at a reasonable rate following short negotiations.

You are invited to pay your respects to Fat Sam following his untimely demise and to the Hot Fingers Band. Vintage 1920's - 1930's dress is optional, but an offer you can't refuse, as it will add to the atmosphere of the evening.

Gentlemen will be requested to leave any hardware at the door.

Don’t let the 'J Edgars' find out - they are definitely NOT invited and Fat Sam would turn in his grave if they showed up at the service.

The HOT FINGERS BAND is fronted by showman Thomas 'Spats' Langham (Pasadena Roof Orchestra) and they'll shimmy you into the glamorous world of vintage acoustic string music, from hot jazz of 1920's New York to sophisticated 1930's swing

The HOT FINGERS BAND (above) is fronted by showman Thomas 'Spats' Langham (Pasadena Roof Orchestra) and they'll shimmy you into the glamorous world of vintage acoustic string music, from hot jazz of 1920's New York to sophisticated 1930's swing, from the 'French Coffee House' sound of the king of gypsy swing, Django Reinhardt, and the syncopated Latin rhythms of Oscar Aleman, to the early blues of Lonnie Johnson and the jazz and swing of pioneer Eddie Lang.

Hot Fingers attract audiences of all ages and musical tastes with their infectious enthusiasm and light-hearted approach; great chat which is as informative whilst entertaining. A great family evening.

Individually, members of the band have toured the world with the likes of The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Bob Kerr's Whoopee Band, Piccadilly Dance Orchestra and The Charleston Chasers. 'The Hottest Man in Town' CD (with additional musicians) has been featured regularly on BBC Radio 2.

Tickets are now available from the Whitwell Centre on (01909) 723490 or from Wayne on 01909 721648, Tracey on 01909 720351 and from other Whitwell Forward members - or you can e mail them through their website at www.whitwell4ward.org.uk
