It's a pub familiar to many of us in Chesterfield and it's been announced that The Hunloke Arms, (below) - a Grade II listed historical public house - is currently undergoing a half million pound refurbishment.
Situated on the A61 Derby Road, just 2 miles south of Chesterfield in Wingerworth, the refurbished premises, is to be called "The Wingerworth Pub & Kitchen" - and will become a major new local food and drink venue.
The Wingerworth will be serving breakfast, lunch and evening meals 7 days of the week and will be a major new local employer, creating around 20 jobs for many local people.
The food offer will range from pub classic meals to something extraordinary for those special occasions.
The new owners are inviting local residents and regulars to a 'Meet the Regulars' event on Sunday, 11th August, at 4pm, where people interested in what will happen to their local can see plans and artists impressions - over complimentary food and wine - and have a chance to ask André, the new landlord, about his vision for the future.
Leo Jurkiw, Director of Over The Moon Hospitality Ltd, the company behind the development, told The Chesterfield Post, "It's a tired old building and we are giving it a new lease of life. It's also an historic building and we'd like it to become a focal point of the community providing facilities for the community to use and we are very much looking forward to becoming part of that community.
"We'll be serving the normal pub classics, along with a more exclusive option and will be working with a high class wine establishment, who will provide an interesting range of drinks.
"Please feel free to come along to the open evening, you will be very welcome - and we will answer any questions you have."
