A full diary of events for Chesterfield College's Arts Festival 2011.


Theatre, Dance, Music, Lectures featuring acting, technology, TV presenting, filming, art and design along with many others over the month of June, in and around Chesterfield and the College.

Wed 8th June, 10am-12pm -
Arts Festival preview involving street theatre created with ‘STOMP’- across the town centre

Fri 10th June, 10am-2pm -
Launch of the Arts Festival - a wide range of activities taking place in the Marketplace including singing, dancing, acting, 'STOMP' routine

Fri 10th June, 10am-2pm -
Have your portrait done on an iPad by world renowned iPad artists and Lecturer, Mike Godley - Chesterfield Marketplace

Fri 10th June, 10am-2pm -
BRING ALONG YOUR GADGETS! Open workshop for any advice on using camera equipment, iPads, iPods and iPhones. Master classes given by staff and students in Chesterfield's Marketplace.

10th - 24th June -
Student Art exhibition at the CASA Hotel

Art in the Bar - a variety of student works will be displayed at the Pomegranate Theatre

Media student's work will be screened in the shop windows of Panasonic and Midlands Co-op

Innovative book design covers to be displayed in Chesterfield Library and Waterstones book shop

Launch of the Community Film Making competition - look out for entry details around the town centre

Fri 10th June, 10am-2pm -
Learn how to speak in a variety of regional and international accents - Chesterfield Marketplace

Fri 10th June, 10am-2pm -
Creative postcards will be on sale - Chesterfield Marketplace

10th - 24th June, 10am-2pm -
A range of student-made fashion garments, video installations, fine art, media, photography, jewellery, graphic design and film will be exhibited in the Marketplace

Mon 13th & Thurs 16th June, 10am-2pm -

Learn how to become a presenter! - Presenting workshop teaching the skills of a TV presenter - Chesterfield Marketplace

Create your very own animation! - Learn how to create your own piece of stop-motion animation - Chesterfield Marketplace

Fri 17th June, 7pm -
The big artwork exhibition, displaying a wide variety of the Art and Design student's creations - The Dome, Chesterfield College

Mon 20th June, 7pm onwards -
Film Festival - a selection of student films will be shown in the Pacific Restaurant

Mon 20th June, 2pm & 7pm -
The final performance of 'After Juliet' by Level 2 Performing Arts students - The Recital Room Theatre, Chesterfield College

Tues 21st & Wed 22nd June, 2pm & 7pm -
The Fashion, Hair and Beauty Show - catwalk show of student fashion collections, hairdressing and beauty finishes held at the Winding Wheel. Call 01246 500522 to book tickets

Thurs 23rd June, 2pm & 7pm -
The final performance of 'The Grain Store' by Level 3 National Diploma second year Performing Arts students - The Recital Room Theatre, Chesterfield College

Mon 27th June -
Performing Arts perform extracts from 'The Grain Store' - Young Peoples Festival, Pomegranate Theatre
