Chesterfield v Macclesfield Town
Venue: B2net Stadium
Kick off: 3pm
Chesterfield are edging closer to the promise of League One football next season.
A win over strugglers Macclesfield tomorrow coupled with Shrewsbury dropping points at home to Stockport would see the Spireites gain promotion for the first time in ten years.
John Sheridan's men will need to improve on a poor performance at Hereford last weekend that saw the Spireites lose 3-0.
Chesterfield will be without the services of Gregor Robertson, who has been confirmed that he will miss the rest of the season due to an Achilles injury picked up in the second half at Edgar Street.
Robertson had been playing extremely well since converting to centre half, and this will be a big blow to Sheridans plans. The manager can choose either Ian Breckin, Dwayne Mattis or Ian Breckin to slot in alongside Dean Holden as the trio are fit following recent illness and injury.
Macclesfield on the other hand have a couple of injury problems with Emile Sinclair doubtful due to a hamstring strain and Paul Morgan ruled out for the rest of the season with a broken arm. Current Chesterfield player Dan Gray on loan at Macclesfield since January is available to play but that depends if he gets selected, as the Mansfield born defender has been on the bench recently for the Silkmen.
As for Maccs form, they haven't won in 5 matches and 4 of those have been defeats. Last time out Macclesfield drew 2-2 at home to Accrington Stanley, featuring a 4-5-1 formation which the Silkmen may employ tomorrow.
Last time in North Derbyshire, Macclesfield were thumped 4-1 by the Spireites, with goals from Wade Small, Jack Lester, Jamie Lowry and Donal McDermott who is currently on loan at Bournemouth. Hamza Bencharif scored the Silkmens only goal.
Squad wise, Chesterfield are due to lose the services of Keiran Djilali as his loan spell expires at the end of tomorrows match.
