Arts And Crafts Market Adds Brightness To Lights Switch On

A new Arts and Craft market is setting up for this year's Christmas lights switch-on event in Chesterfield.

Over 20 local artists and craftspeople will be exhibiting and selling their work on the main market in the town from 12noon until 6pm on Sunday 21st November.

PotteryThe public can meet local artists, treat themselves to something special and buy unusual hand-made Christmas presents.

Cllr Ray Russell, Leader of Chesterfield Borough Council said: "The Arts and Craft market will add a new dimension to our traditional markets and shops and will hopefully give people even more choice to pick up some more unusual and unique Christmas gifts."


The artworks that will be on sale (2 examples of which are shown here) range from jewellery (e.g. stone set, textile, leather, aluminium and seaglass), felt works, knits, bags, dolls, stationery, general gifts, tableware, fantasy paintings, prints, leather giftware, fine craftworks, recycled textile animals and fetish dolls, contemporary canvases, pencil drawings, chinese brush paintings, mirrorwork, glasswork, woodturning, ceramics of all kinds including utility, decorative and figurative, hats and headware, hand crochet, 'Overground' prints, artists cards, aromatherapy soaps and a Fairtrade information stall.
