Fans Advised To Sit In Allocated Seat

Thursday 23rd September 2010

Chesterfield Football Club is warning that anyone who cannot prove they're in the right seat at matches at the B2 Net may be moved.

With record numbers attending home games, officials are advising that there is a need for fans to remain in their own seats. Tempers are flaring on the terraces where the purchasers of match day tickets have found that supporters claiming to be season ticket holders have occupied their allocated seats.

The only way of identifying the correct seats allocated to season ticket holders on a match day is by inspecting the Season Ticket Book and the Club is advising that these should be made available for inspection if necessary at every home league game for the rest of the season.

This procedure is in accordance with the terms and conditions on which the season ticket was initially purchased, which state that "The season ticket must be produced on demand."

CFC stadium manager Colin Nellist
said: "As the ticketing system cannot now issue a match ticket for a seat already allocated to a season ticket holder, the problem arises when people sit in the wrong seats.

"Where this arises stewards have been asked to inspect both match day tickets and season ticket books to ensure that the seats are being occupied by the correct person.

"It is now crucial that season ticket holders bring their books to every league game from now on to help clear up any confusion that may arise.

"Without evidence to the contrary it may be necessary in the future for stewards to relocate anyone who has no proof of their seat allocation."

Colin Nellist added: "The co-operation of season ticket holders will be much appreciated to ensure the enjoyment of the match day experience at the B2net Stadium is not spoiled for other supporters."
