St Andrews Thanksgiving Service With Chesterfield Caledonian Association

Tuesday 6th December 2011

Unlike last year there was no snow and wind factor to detract from the enjoyment of the service of Thanksgiving and Praise on Sunday 28th November.

A good number of Caledonians joined the Congregation of St Andrew's United Reformed Church for the Church Service. A number of the St Andrews congregation are also members of the Caledonian Association and there has been an eighty year relationship between the two organisations.

The Service of Thanksgiving and Praise was led by Association Past President, Andrew Boswell supported by other members of the Association.

Following the Service members moved on to Sunday Lunch which was held for a second year in the Masonic Hall, Chesterfield.

Fifty two members and friends enjoyed an afternoon of good fellowship and conversation, Past President Ian Gill said grace prior to everyone enjoying a fantastic meal prepared by Mrs Anne Inn and her team.

Following lunch, Past President of The Caledonian Society Of Doncaster Vivian M'itwamwari gave an excellent Toast to Scotland.
