Events organised to boost the local economy and promote the local markets have been hailed a success after crowds descended on events in Eckington, Clay Cross and Killamarsh.
The 'Marketing the Markets' campaign that was organised by NE Derbyshire District Council featured street entertainment, kids' activities, free raffles and a range of stalls.
Local businesses, including The Sitwell Arms - whose Head Chef, Daniel Nutt (pictured left) showcased his skills at Eckington Market - Kemps Brewery, Kemps Catering For Eckington, Oriental Pearl, Spendloves Butchers, Poshfit, The Crown at Higham and The Midland attended.
Cllr Pat Kerry, Member with responsibility for the Economy, said: "The weather could have been a bit kinder to us, but it didn't deter people from coming along, having a good time and enjoying the stalls and entertainment that were on offer!
"Our markets are valuable assets to our communities and, through events like this, and we want to encourage people to discover and get the most out of them."
The next round of events will take place in October - 27th in Killamarsh, 28th in October and 29th in Clay Cross - with a spooky theme for Halloween.
The project is funded by the Bolsover and North East Derbyshire Leader Approach, with support from Clay Cross Parish Council, Eckington Parish Council, Killamarsh Community Trust Association and Dronfield Town Council which manage the markets in their towns.
