The Mayor's Appeal 'Football Raffle' was drawn during half time (pictured below) of the game against Bury on Easter Monday at the B2net.
His Worship the Mayor of Chesterfield helps draw the winning tickets for his Football Raffle' at the B2net
All monies raised by the sales of tickets will go towards the Mayor's Appeal, which supports two local charities - the Samaritans and Fairplay.
Winners have been notified and are as follows ;
1st Prize – one of the balls used at the last football match at Saltergate
Tom Kelly – ticket number 02583
2nd Prize – an autographed football shirt from this season
I Cheetham – ticket number 02540
3rd Prize – a collection of old football programmes
R W Pringle –ticket number 01344
Afterwards we talked to the Mayor who thanked fans for their support. Tickets had been on sale since January he revealed that over £1,000 had been raised.
His Worship also praised the Directors of the club who he said had been generous in allowing tickets to be sold at the ground, commenting, "They've helped tremendously - they've been absolutely fantastic I can't praise them enough. I want to say thank you to the fans for buying tickets. It's all here - great supporters, a great team and a wonderful experience."
The Mayor was also keen to congratulate the Spireites on a promotion winning season, "It's terrific news. I'm very impressed. It's a brilliant atmosphere here today and lovely to see the place buzzing with Chesterfield supporters on 3 sides along with a great turnout from Bury fans. It's great to see - we couldn't have wished for more support."
