Five people have been cautioned for possession of drugs after police in Chesterfield acted on information from residents about drug use in the area.
Officers from the Holmebrook and Rother Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out a number of warrants on Tuesday, September 7 and Thursday, September 9.
The warrants were executed after residents raised concerns with local officers about drug use in the Rother area at a community meeting last month.
A 40-year-old man was given a caution for possession of cannabis after officers carried out a warrant at his flat on Harehill Road, Grangewood on Tuesday, September 7.
A warrant was carried out at an address on Didcot Close on Tuesday, September 7, where officers again found cannabis. The occupant, a 32-year-old man, admitted possession of cannabis and was also given a formal caution.
On Thursday, September 9, officers carried out a warrant at an address on Thorntree Court. A 35-year-old man was arrested for possession of a class B drug after a small amount of white powder was found.
The man admitted it was amphetamine and it was for personal use and was given a formal caution.
Sergeant Paul Carrington, who is in charge of the Holmebrook and Rother SNT, said: "We take all reports of drug use seriously and I would like to thank local residents for passing the information on to their local officers and allowing us to take this action."
Officers from the team have also been targeting the issue of drug use while out on patrol.
