Chesterfield AC's Tasmin Boam, representing Derbyshire Dales, added the Schools' gold medal to her Derbyshire club title when she won the Inter-Girls race at the recent County Schools' Cross-Country Championships held at Mount St Mary's College, Spinkhill.
Despite being in the lower half of the age-group, she beat a number of older, more experienced rivals to head the 30-strong field at the finish.
Team-mate Lauren Davies-Beckett (Chesterfield) came in Bronze Medal position, as did Nathan Staniford (High Peak) in the Inter-Boys race.
The Club's Katie Lindley (Chesterfield) also had an excellent victory in the Year 7 Girls race, and Ed Bilton (Chesterfield) took Silver in the Senior Boys' race.
Other top 10 positions:
Y7 Boys:
Merlin Ferrinho (Chesterfield) - 4th.
Junior Girls:
Sophie Critchlow (North East) - 9th.
Inter-Girls:
Lindsey Morgan (Bolsover) - 4th, Rebecca Herring (Chesterfield) - 9th.
Inter-Boys:
Campbell Menzies (Chesterfield) - 5th.
Apart from the Y7s, most of these athletes should also be selected to represent Derbyshire in the English Schools' Cross-Country Champs at Ilton, Somerset on 17th March.
CDAC's dynamic duo of young female hurdlers, Alicia Barrett and Emma Schaanning, stamped the form of their recent positions in the Northern Indoor Championships when they occupied the same places in the Birmingham Games at the National Indoor Arena. Alicia won the U15G 60m hurdles in 9.16s with Emma second in 9.23s.
Decathlete Mark Beer took a trip to Glasgow to compete in the Scottish Combined Events Champs and finished 11th in the SM Heptathlon with a new personal best score of 4,125pts, which included a new personal best in the 60m hurdles event of 9.67s.
