PANTHERS (U14's)  26 - 10 SHEFFIELD TIGERS (U14's)

Panthers Outpace Tigers!

After a shaky start from both sides Panthers gained the upper hand and a forwards try from James Marshall gave them the lead after five minutes. Alistair Taylor added the conversion.

Tigers upped the pressure but solid defensive work from the Chesterfield team prevented any score and eventually possession was gained and the Panthers took control.

A last ditch tackle kept out Alex Winnard but Matthew Lamin, currently training with Leicester Tigers Academy, eventually found a gap to score in the left corner.

Tigers pulled a try back just before the break to give a 12 - 5 score at half time.

The second half saw Tigers start afresh and this brought early results as they scored a try but this was to be their last points as Chesterfield took control. Dan Burrows crashed through under the posts and Nick Foan ran in from 22 metres, with Taylor converting both, to seal a comfortable victory at 26 - 10.

Chesterfield Panthers Under 10's team has been sponsored by local company Franke for the remainder of this season and the next one.

The sponsorship will provide training wear for the squad and the squad is pictured above in the new kit following the handover last week.

A spokesman for Franke said that they were, "Delighted to support the good work being done by the Panthers in the promotion of rugby as a sport for young players of all ages."
