Former Mayor Thanks Chesterfield For Its Support

Tuesday 8th July 2014

Former Mayor of Chesterfield, Cllr Paul Christopher Stone, has today announced the total made for his nominated charities during his mayoral year (2013/14).

Former Mayor of Chesterfield, Cllr Paul Christopher Stone, has today announced the total made for his nominated charities during his mayoral year (2013/14).

Just over nine thousand pounds was raised via various charity events and Cllr Stone (pictured above with former Mayoress Barbara Wallace), says that he wishes to place on record his thanks for everyone who helped or donated.

The monies were divided as follows:

  • Pathways of Chesterfield, a special collection, money raised - £105
    Food Banks/Soup Kitchen

  • Church on the Bus (Captain Alan Park) - £300

  • Chesterfield Food Bank - £1,200

  • Salvation Army working at St.Hughes Church (Lt. Joyce Baines) - £600
This also included a special collection and was supported
by Father Craig Fitzpatrick and St Hugh's Church

  • Lifehouse Church - £300

  • New Hope Food Bank, providing for people in the Staveley area - £1,200

  • Hope Springs Recovery Centre - £4,000

  • The Nenna Kind Hospital Transport Fund - £2,006.66
Including money generously raised by Parklands Health and Fitness Club

Cllr Stone added, "Mrs Barbara Wallace who offered to support me during my mayoral year, has been working tirelessly, raising money directly for the Nenna Kind and the Nenna Kind Hospital Transport Fund.

"A lot of good causes are finding it harder to raise money, and it is pleasing that so many Chesterfield people supported my appeal, in such difficult financial times.

"I thank all those who have helped and wish all local good causes and their great voluntary supporters, my best wishes for the future."

Councillor Paul Christopher Stone, Mayor of Chesterfield for 2013/14.
