More Transport Added As Ticket Sales Continue - And Transfer News

Saturday 5th February 2011

Alfreton Town has told us this morning that, due to demand, they have added a FIFTH coach for today's FA Trophy trip to Mansfield Town.

Tickets have sold so well that the club has received another allocation from the Stags. Over 900 have now been sold and Reds Chairman Wayne Bradley had this message for fans travelling to the game, "The club is delighted and humbled to recognise the support of the community. The players are aware of the level of support they will have at Saturday's game and will be going all out to try and ensure they repay their faith."

There are still some tickets left for the tie and also seats on the fifth coach are available and can be purchased by calling in at the Impact Arena between 9am and 12noon this morning (Saturday). Please note, ticket sales on the ground are by cash only.

TURNER IN THE SPOTLIGHT AFTER WEDNESDAY RECALL O'DONNELL

Ross Turner will be in goal for Alfreton Town at Mansfield Town for Saturday's FA Trophy third round tie.

It was expected Richard O'Donnell would make his Alfreton debut having joined the club on loan on Tuesday, however, injury within the Sheffield Wednesday camp has led to the Owls recalling him from his loan spell prematurely. Paddy Gamble is unavailable due to personal issues.

TWO MORE SIGNINGS

Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law has strengthened his squad by signing two central defenders. Nottingham-born Kallum Keane joins after being released by Derby County and Theo Streete, 23, has moved from Blue Square Bet North rivals Solihull Moors for an undisclosed fee.

Streete, 23, started his career with Derby County, turning professional in August 2006 on a short-term deal. He moved to Doncaster Rovers on loan in September 2006, making his league debut Rovers on September 30 in a 2-0 away defeat at Scunthorpe United.

His last game for Doncaster was in a 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in December 2006. It was Rovers' last competitive game at their Belle Vue ground and Theo marked it by scoring the only goal of the game in the second half. After returning from his spell on loan, Derby released him.

In mid-January 2007, Streete had a trial with Bristol Rovers and later the same month also had a further trial with Grimsby Town. In February he joined Rotherham United until the end of the season after which he joined Solihull Moors.

He was named player of the year for 2009/2010 and was captain of the side before his move to the Impact Arena.

Birmingham-born Keane, 19, is a Republic of Ireland youth international, qualifiying through parentage.

He made one full appearance for Derby County Reserves and six as substitute in the 2009/10 season and a further five full appearances and two as substitute in the 2010/2011 campaign.

Having signed professional terms in July 2010, former Rams Academy player Kallum had his contract cancelled by mutual consent at the end of January 2011.

He has been added to Alfreton Town's squad for the FA Trophy third round tie at Mansfield Town. today
