Wednesday 29th June 2011
Alfreton Town's preparations for the brand new 2011/12 season continue apace with the commencement of pre-season training this Thursday (June 30th).
Alongside the new signings so far will be a handful of trialists who will be hoping to force their way into Manager Nicky Law's plans for the club's first ever season in non league's top flight.
Law took his number of summer signings to four last week with the capture of central defender Leigh Franks, following his release at the end of a two-year spell as a 'pro' with Huddersfield Town.
Franks, 20, featured regularly in the Terriers' reserve side as well as having loan spells with Fleetwood Town and Oxford United where he made five appearances.
Law is also understood to be closing in on an experienced but as yet unnamed midfield player.
SEASON TICKET SALES INCREASE
Meanwhile, the Reds have announced a 23 per cent increase on season ticket sales up to the corresponding time frame as 2010 which is another positive move in the right direction, particularly with six weeks left for supporters to purchase them.
However, fans who have still to take advantage of the discount deadline will have to move smartly as prices rise after Thursday, June 30th.
Tickets will still be on sale right through July and up to the final deadline of Friday, August 12th, which is the day before the big kick-off.
After the discount deadline of June 30th, season ticket prices increase from £229 for adults (aged 16 and upwards) to £243; concessions (senior citizens and children aged 15 and under who are non Junior Reds members) will rise from £123 to 140.
Family ticket (two adults and two children aged 15 and under) rises from £584 to £608. The ten-game match tickets will increase from £110 for adults and £65 concessions to £120 and £70 respectively.
New enquiries as well as regular season tickets holders who have still yet to renew can apply for a 2011/12 season ticket by contacting Lisa Towerzey on 01159 392090 extension 107.
Young fans can also save on individual admission by joining the Junior Reds club. Membership for the season is just £5 which admits children 15 and under into each home game for just £2 per match so long as they are accompanied by a full paying adult.
