Results and mini reports for the Junior Staveley MWFC teams, weekend of 3rd and 4th November 2012.

A mixed bag of results this week for the junior Staveley MWFC teams.

U10's - Won against Hallam Rangers 5-4.
This was the game of the season so far for the U10s, with Staveley fighting for possession against a well prepared Hallam. Staveley's ability to pass the ball paid dividends in the end with the result swinging in their favour.

On the score sheet this week were Lewis Imrie (AKA El Niño) bagging another 2 goals to his tally and Ben Huckerby notched up his first hat-trick of the season.

Men of the matches went to Cameron Lee Davison for a strong performance at left midfield and Cameron Dovison for controlling the centre of midfield.

This result keeps the U10s third in the league and well placed to make a challenge on the top 2 teams

U11's - Lost 8-0 v Athersley Rec.
Not at the races today at all. Athersley deserved the win as Staveley U11s were simply not good enough on the day.  Man of the match Kian Clarke.


U12's - Won at home 3-0 against Woodman.
Staveley U12s remain unbeaten at home with a fine team peformance. Goals came from Daniel Riley, Oliver Pratt and a fine solo effort from Regan Furness.
Man of the match was Nick Fergioni.


U13's (Sheffield) - Won 0-5 away at Chesterfield Town.
Yet another strong and well drilled display brought a comfortable win against one of the divisions' top 4 teams and, with other results, took Staveley back up to 2nd place in Division D with only a 2 goal goal-difference keeping them off the top.

The defence were solid as a rock and left their keeper with a very quiet game.

Man of the match performances all over the pitch meant carrying a 3-0 lead into half time. Their dominance continued into the second half, resulting in a host of chances which were scrambled clear, cleared off the line and saved as Staveley's fitness showed again as they piled on the pressure.

Excellent work from midfield and good finishing brought 2 more goals before the final whistle.

Goals from Will Tomlinson (3), Billy Whitehead and Jordan Wells.

A difficult choice, but a well deserved Man of the Match was awarded to hat-trick man Will Tomlinson.


U14's - Drew 1-1 away v Millhouses Juniors.
0-0 at Half Time, after the break Millhouses took the lead. Taylor Askham equalised making the final score 1-1.

U15's - Won 6-2 v Maltby Juniors.
Goal scorers Calum Goodwin 1, George Hilditch 2, Tom Slone 1, Casey Martin 1, Daniel Dreelan 1.


U16's - Lost 3-2 v Maltby.
Half time score 2-1 to Staveley. Goals from George Talbot, Wade Harris.
Man of the match Charlie Glossop.


U18's - Won 12-2 at home to Thorncliffe.
Scorers Ryan Walters (3), Oliver Greaves (3), Joe Elliot (2), Ryan Watters, Greg Fitzpatrick, Jake Johnson.
Man of the match was George Slack.
